Killed in action ~ Died of wounds ~ Died ~ Wounded ~ Deserted
The place of burial or commemoration of a soldier who died in service can normally be established from the CWGC (Commonwealth War Graves Commission) records, however these records will not give the "cause" or classification of death.
The events leading to the soldiers death can easily be resolved however by checking the man's entry in the HMSO listings of War Dead, - these CWGC and HMSO searches will be made as a matter of course when researching any Officer or Other Ranks who died in service.
